Key Responsibilities
(i) teach undergraduate and graduate Immunohematology and Immunology courses in Medical Laboratory Sciences;
(ii) conduct research, including the long-range planning and management of individuals and multidisciplinary teams;
(iii) initiate and participate in community engagement,
(iv) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate students’ research projects;
(v) develop and implement mentorship activities for junior staff;
(vi) raise research funds from funding agencies within and outside University;
(vii) facilitate partnerships internally and externally;
(viii) serve in committees within the University and external professional organisations;
(ix) develop new programmes in Medical Laboratory Sciences;
(x) and carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements
Doctorate (PhD) in Immunohematology/Immunology or related field; N.B. a Masters’ degree in Immunohematology/ Blood Transfusion Sciences or related field with a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
UNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: Associate Professor 6 years; Senior Lecturer 3 years; Lecturer Added advantage.
