Key Responsibilities
Conduct community outreach and health education on NCDs, healthy lifestyles, and disease prevention
Facilitate community dialogues, household visits, and awareness sessions
Mobilise communities and engage local stakeholders and leaders
Distribute IEC materials and promote key health messages
Promote healthy behaviours and encourage use of preventive health services
Support health campaigns and commemorative events
Identify community concerns and barriers to health-seeking behaviour
Collect and maintain accurate data during outreach activities
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly activity reports
Document success stories, feedback and lessons learned
Support surveys, monitoring and project evaluation
Report emerging health concerns and challenges
Work closely with programme staff, health facilities and partners
Strengthen referral systems and community engagement
Participate in trainings, meetings and capacity building activities
Represent the organisation professionally in the community
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Sciences or related field
Experience in community outreach or health promotion will be an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in community settings and travel within assigned areas
Must be based in or have accommodation in Gaborone or surrounding areas
Passion for public health and community development
