The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the below positions
 
 
 FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
 
 
Department of Sociology
 
 
i) Lecturer in Sociology (contract position) REF: Vacancy No. IRC 2709
 
 
QUALIFICATION:
 
 
Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in Sociology or related fields. N.B.: a relevant Master’s Degree in Sociology with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology of at least 2.1 pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
UNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: Lecturer Added advantage.
 
 
Duties:
 
 
The candidate should be able to: i) teach Sociological Theory and Research Methods at undergraduate and graduate level; ii) be able to develop and offer courses in at least two of the following areas: various areas of Sociological theory (Classical sociological theory; Contemporary Sociological Theory; Philosophy of Science; Applied Methodology; African Social Thought; Social Movements and Activism, and Medical Sociology). iii) be able to supervise undergraduate and graduate student research projects.
