Botswana Railways invites suitably qualified citizens with a proven track record to apply for the position of
Occupational Health Nurse
, tenable in Mahalapye. The successful candidate will report directly to the Health & Wellness Manager in the Corporate Services Department.
Main Purpose of the Job
Manage occupational injuries/illnesses, return-to-work assessments and rehabilitation.
Conduct and facilitate medical surveillance for employees (pre-employment, periodic, pre-placement and exit medicals).
Provide primary healthcare services to employees at the Botswana Railways Clinic.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
Provide first aid, emergency care and referrals as required.
Support chronic disease management and employee health monitoring.
Promote health and wellness activities for employees.
Provide psychosocial support to employees and refer accordingly.
Work collaboratively with other stakeholders.
Maintain confidential medical records and prepare reports as required.
Position Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Minimum Diploma in General Nursing.
Minimum Diploma in Occupational Health.
Professional Membership
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse and/or Occupational Health Nurse in an occupational health setting or a similar role.
