{"id":1557,"date":"2025-05-28T15:32:23","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T15:32:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/botswana\/job\/director-research-knowledge-business-ministry-of-communication-innovation\/"},"modified":"2025-06-28T00:50:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T00:50:11","slug":"director-research-knowledge-business-ministry-of-communication-innovation","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/botswana\/?post_type=job_listing&p=1557","title":{"rendered":"DIRECTOR- RESEARCH &amp; KNOWLEDGE BUSINESS -Ministry Of Communication &amp; Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VACANCY\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Director \u2013 E1 salary scale tenable at Ministry of Communications and Innovation, Department of Research and Knowledge Business on contract basis.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nMAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTo provide strategic leadership in the management and coordination of the Research and Knowledge Business function.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Develops of Research and Knowledge Business policies, legislation, standards and strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Monitors compliance to policies, legislation, standards and strategies for Research and Knowledge Business.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinates development and review of research and Knowledge guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Interprets Research and Knowledge Business policies and legislation to stakeholders to guide national development.<\/p>\n<p>Consults with stakeholders in the development and review of Research and Knowledge Business policies, legislation and strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Represent the Ministry in various fora on issues of National Research and Knowledge Business.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinates development and implementation of the performance strategy and plan for Research and Knowledge Business function.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinates adherence to implementation of the Research Agenda and set priority areas.<\/p>\n<p>Oversees development of effective Research Management Systems.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinates the review and evaluation of implementation of research funding.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates for value addition and commercialisation of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinates monitoring and evaluation of Knowledge Management activities and implements corrective measures.<\/p>\n<p>Guides the development and implementation of systems for creation, capturing, processing storage and sharing of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Provides oversight on knowledge generation, exchange and management in the National System of Innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates for national promotion of science, technology and innovation to create awareness on the benefits of science.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates for promotion and safe use of nuclear technology through educational campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Determines immediate and long term financial priorities for Research.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates for the development of the recurrent budget and development budget for the function.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nQUALIFICATIONS:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nA Degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
