The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) is seeking a visionary, strategic, and results-oriented leader to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for steering the development of athletics as an elite sport in Botswana while ensuring the country\u2019s effective participation at global, regional, and local competitions.

\nPurpose of the Role:
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
The CEO will provide strategic leadership, build internal capacity, and oversee the implementation of BAA programmes in line with the organisation\u2019s mandate and strategy. A key focus includes preparing Team Botswana for major international games such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and World Championships, while increasing national participation and performance in athletics.

\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Provide strategic direction aligned with national sport priorities and international guidelines<\/p>\n
Oversee preparation, selection, and participation of Team Botswana<\/p>\n
Lead stakeholder engagement and represent BAA at national and international levels<\/p>\n
Implement sustainable high-performance systems and athlete development pathways<\/p>\n
Champion sound governance, operational excellence, and financial sustainability<\/p>\n
Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, compliance, and corporate governance<\/p>\n
Cultivate strategic partnerships and funding opportunities for athletics<\/p>\n
Foster a high-performance culture and lead organisational transformation<\/p>\n

\nMinimum Qualifications and Experience:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent<\/p>\n
At least five (5) years of executive management and strategic leadership experience<\/p>\n
Background in sport administration, development, or sport science will be an advantage<\/p>\n
