Main Purpose of the Job

\nLeads the planning, development and management of the University\u2019s facilities, including infrastructure, equipment, and maintenance, to provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nKey Performance Areas
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Directs the formulation and implementation of effective strategies for providing and maintaining adequate, safe, and secure facilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Coordinates and controls the management of capital projects, facilities maintenance, procurement of equipment and materials, and cost control.<\/p>\n
Ensures that the university complies with all health, safety, waste management, and environmental regulations to promote the routine use of facilities in a safe and sustainable manner.<\/p>\n
Coordinates and supervises the activities of contractors for cost-effectiveness, safety, and timely completion of works.<\/p>\n
Leads the development and implementation of facilities management policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Safeguards facilities and accident hazards to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and university policies.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications, Experience
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Estate Management\/Project Management\/Facilities Management\/Construction Management\/Civil Engineering\/Building Services or a related field.<\/p>\n
At least 7 years post qualification experience in facilities management or building maintenance.<\/p>\n
Experience in a higher education, Regulatory or any other similar institution will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n

Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance.<\/p>\n
Knowledge of health & safety and security regulations.<\/p>\n
