Main Purpose of the Job

\nResponsible for senior-level decision making, day-to-day management and strategic direction in the areas of communication, marketing, fundraising as well as public relations, and stakeholder engagement, with a view to promote the image and visibility of the University, develop the BOU brand and support the strategic objectives of BOU.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nKey Performance Areas
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Oversee the formulation, review, and implementation of communication policies, strategies, plans, rules, regulations, systems, processes, procedures, standards and guidelines, in order to ensure achievement of BOU goals and objectives.<\/p>\n
Provide leadership in the appropriate marketing and public relations activities that support achievement of BOU goals at all levels of the University.<\/p>\n
Advise and assist executive and senior management on corporate and stakeholder engagement matters.<\/p>\n
Serve as the primary information about BOU in local and international media.<\/p>\n
Provide input in areas pertaining to the department\u2019s functions towards a broader university agenda.<\/p>\n
Oversee and monitor the realisation of own department\u2019s Key Results Areas and staff performance, and make decisions on matters to improve unit and departmental performance.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications, Experience
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
At least a Masters in Corporate Communications\/Marketing\/Mass Communication\/Public Relations or related field from a recognized institution.<\/p>\n
Membership of a recognized institute of public relations, marketing, design, or communication strategy, as appropriate.<\/p>\n
At least 10 years of relevant application work experience, with at least 5 years at senior management position.<\/p>\n
Proven experience in the use of IT software\/applications relevant to the position.<\/p>\n
Experience in a higher education or management position will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
