\nWe are seeking a proactive, experienced, and commercially minded Legal Team Supervisor to join our team and support our operations through expert legal guidance and strategic support.

\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Debt Collection Litigation:<\/p>\n
Oversee and manage legal debt recovery processes.
\nRepresent the company in court and manage external counsel where applicable.
\nDraft pleadings, applications, and legal correspondence related to collections and enforcement.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Legal Agreements and Contracts:<\/p>\n
Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, service contracts, and other commercial agreements.
\nEnsure all agreements are legally sound, risk-appropriate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Legal Advisory & Risk Management:<\/p>\n
Provide in-house legal advice on lending operations, collections, compliance, and risk-related matters.
\nAdvise on regulatory and statutory developments affecting the business.
\nSupport internal teams in managing legal risks and resolving legal disputes.<\/p>\n

Corporate and Compliance Support:<\/p>\n
Assist with company secretarial duties and governance matters (if required).
\nEnsure internal practices align with applicable laws, including the Financial Intelligence Act and Data Protection laws.<\/p>\n

\nRequirements:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Law (LLB) and admitted to practice law in Botswana.
\nA minimum of 3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 legal experience, with strong exposure to debt recoveries, litigation and commercial law.
\nExperience in the financial services or lending industry is a strong advantage.
\nSolid knowledge of debt recovery processes and financial regulation.
\nStrong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple matters, and make sound legal judgments under pressure.<\/p>\n
