\nDuties and Responsibilities
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Establishing and managing the tax department, including overseeing its operations and participation in the hiring process.
\nEfficiently and effectively executing all tax projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
\nReviewing or preparing tax returns for various clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
\nAssisting in the preparation of tax advice within the realm of Botswana tax law, providing valuable insights to clients.
\nIdentifying training needs, selecting appropriate training resources, and ensuring that employees and clients receive the necessary knowledge and skills.
\nCollaborating with the team and accountants during audits.
\nReview of Tax legislation, Fiscal policy, Ministry of Finance Budget, Statutory Instruments, and BURS Public Notices.
\nBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing exceptional service and addressing their needs.
\nEstablishing and maintaining a professional relationship with BURS officials and acting as a liaison officer between clients and BURS.
\nManaging business development activities, including preparing proposals and collaborating with other professionals to expand the client base.<\/p>\n

\nEducation and Professional Qualifications
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chartered Accountant\/ACCA\/CIA\/ADIT
\nMaster of Commerce Degree or any other relevant master\u2019s degree.
\nFiscal Studies\/Accounting\/Auditing\/Business Degree
\nA member of the Institute of any recognized professional body such as BICA\/IIA\/I<\/p>\n

\nExperience
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification is required.
\nAt least 5 years of experience
\nProven interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, coach, motivate, and effectively manage financial audit staff.
\nAbility to work collaboratively with various departments, with a solid understanding of how financial auditing aligns with operational functions within a professional services environment.<\/p>\n
