We are committed to excellence and innovation in diagnostic services, operating at the highest international standards.\u00a0\u00a0Position: Laboratory Scientist \u2013 Histopathology & Cytology\u00a0\u00a0We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Scientist specializing in Histopathology and Cytopathology to play a key role in our Anatomical Pathology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing critical laboratory processes, ensuring the utmost accuracy and quality in diagnostic testing.\u00a0\u00a0Key Responsibilities:\u00a0\u00a0\u2022 Perform and supervise the full range of histopathological techniques.
\n\u2022 Conduct gross examination, dissection, and description of surgical tissue specimens.
\n\u2022 Oversee and participate in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy (sectioning), and staining (H&E, special stains).
\n\u2022 Ensure the highest standards of quality control are maintained throughout all procedures.
\n\u2022 Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment.
\n\u2022 Strictly adhere to and promote the standards and protocols required for ISO 15189:2022 accreditation.
\n\u2022 Maintain accurate and detailed records in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
\n\u2022 Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and accurate diagnosis.\u00a0\u00a0Minimum Qualifications & Experience:\u00a0\u00a0\u2022 A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a directly related field.
\n\u2022 Must be registered with the relevant professional body (e.g., Health Professions Council of Botswana)\u00a0\u00a0Essential Experience:\u00a0\u00a0\u2022 A minimum of 3 years of hands-on, post-qualification experience in a Histopathology and Cytopathology laboratory.
\n\u2022 Proven and specific experience working within a laboratory accredited to ISO 15189:2022. Experience with the 2022 version of the standard is highly desirable.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
