\nApplications are invited from qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Production Controller and Designer tenable at Gaborone.

\nRole Overview:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nTo effectively and efficiently control the production of coffins and caskets and for designing new products involving various types of wood. The role also includes ensuring technical maintenance of machines and responding to any major mechanical breakdowns at the manufacturing plant.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Diploma in Wood Machining, or equivalent from a recognized technical institution.
\n\u2022 At least 10 years\u2019 hands-on experience in a production\/wood manufacturing plant.
\n\u2022 Strong background in woodworking machinery, production design, and factory production processes.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nKey Requirements:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Versatile in all wood-working machinery and processes;
\n\u2022 Good exposure in mass production;
\n\u2022 Good working of knowledge of jigs and fixtures;
\n\u2022 Pro-active, mature and have good leadership skills to manage production floor;
\n\u2022 Good knowledge of timber and timber products; and
\n\u2022 Good knowledge of machine accessories and abrasives.

\nKey performance areas:

\n\u2022 Develop new wood-based products and processes to improve productivity and competitiveness.
\n\u2022 Plan and carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines and woodworking tools.
\n\u2022 Maintain high standards of product quality, machine performance, and production processes.
\n\u2022 Perform machine settings for complex operations and train operators where necessary.
\n\u2022 Supervise production teams, ensuring efficiency, discipline, and adherence to company standards.
\n\u2022 Research and develop innovative designs to expand the company\u2019s product line.
\n\u2022 Ensure effective use and accountability of all factory accessories, consumables, and protective equipment.
\n\u2022 Monitor production targets, output levels and waste reduction initiatives.
\n\u2022 Report production performance and technical issues to management for decision-making.<\/p>\n
