Officer tenable at Botswana Public Employees Union Headquaters.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nPURPOSE OF THE JOB:<\/p>\n<p>To provide technical support for labour relations matters, bargaining, negotiations and research services to contribute to the promotion of members\u2019 interests and enhancement of the quality of life of members.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\/ RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n*The officer will be accountable for but not limited to:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u2022 Undertakes research and drafts bargaining position papers as well as counter proposals and for presentation at collective bargaining structures<br \/>\n\u2022 Plan and organize meetings of internal collective bargaining and negotiation structure(s)<br \/>\n\u2022 Represent BOPEU at collective bargaining structures<br \/>\n\u2022 Draw and maintain a follow up system on actions arising from collective bargaining meetings<br \/>\n\u2022 Draft and prepare reports on matters related to labour negotiations and bargaining<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide training to shop stewards in collective bargaining and negotiation processes<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist in promotion of healthy relationships with the media<br \/>\n\u2022 Recommend appropriate collective bargaining strategies<br \/>\n\u2022 Ensure that all safety and loss control standards (Safety Health and environmental) are adhered to<br \/>\n\u2022 *Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time to meet the exigencies of BOPEU<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>A recognized Degree in Human Resource, Labour Relations, Business, Accounting or equivalent<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 At least two (2) years post-graduate experience in labour union environment<br \/>\n\u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft office Suite or related software<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCOMPETENCIES<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Planning, organizing and coordinating<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent communication
