The Financial Intelligence Agency is an Agency of Government responsible mainly for the production and dissemination of financial intelligence to relevant authorities to combat money laundering, terrorist and proliferation financing and other financial crimes. The Agency is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Financial Intelligence Act by Specified Parties and Accountable Institutions.

\nVACANCY: PRINCIPAL LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER II
\nSALARY: D3 (P293, 652- P 323, 748 per annum).
\nLeave: 30 working days per annum.
\nBenefits: (i) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government contributes 50% and Employees pays 50%).

\nCandidates should have at least a Master\u2019s Degree in Commercial\/Company Law or any other related field. A Master\u2019s degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.

\nExperience:

\nA minimum of eight (8) years\u2019 post qualification work experience in a relevant field, of which two (2) years must have been served at Senior Officer level (D4) or Principal Officer (D3) salary scale or equivalent. Exposure to the following fields is a requirement:

\n\u2022 Mentoring and coaching
\n\u2022 Staff development
\n\u2022 Performance Management
\n\u2022 Compliance with policies and procedures

\nMain Purpose of the Job:

\nTo provide legal advice and ensure compliance with the Financial Intelligence Agency\u2019s legal and regulatory framework.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nDuties:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Provide legal advice and support on all Agency matters including contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
\n\u2022 Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, policies, and procedures.
\n\u2022 Ensure the Agency\u2019s operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
\n\u2022 Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues affecting the Agency.
\n\u2022 Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
\n\u2022 Represent the Agency in legal proceedings, as appropriate.
\n\u2022 Develop and deliver legal and compliance training to staff.
\n\u2022 Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations relevant to the Agency\u2019s operations.
