The Financial Intelligence Agency is an Agency of Government responsible mainly for the production and dissemination of financial intelligence to relevant authorities to combat money laundering, terrorist and proliferation financing and other financial crimes. The Agency is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Financial Intelligence Act by Specified Parties and Accountable Institutions.

\nVACANCY: PRINCIPAL FINANCIAL ANALYST I
\nSALARY: D2 (P337,008 \u2013 P 371, 628 per annum)
\nLeave: 30 working days per annum.
\nBenefits: i) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and Employees pay 50%).

\nQualifications:
\n\u00a0
\nCandidates should have at least Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accountancy\/ Economics\/Financial or any other related field. A Master\u2019s Degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.

\nExperience:
\n\u00a0
\nAt least ten (10) years\u2019 post qualification work experience of which two (2) years or equivalent must have been served as an Officer I\/II on D3 salary scale or equivalent. Experience in any of the following fields is a requirement:
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Public or private sector or any other field that is relevant. Experience in any of the following fields is a requirement:
\n\u2022 Financial Investigations.
\n\u2022 Financial Analysis.
\n\u2022 Money laundering and combating of terrorism financing.
\n\u2022 Professional Course in Fraud and\/or Financial Crime.
\n\u2022 Experience in the capital markets.

\nMain Purpose of the Job:
\n\u00a0
\nTo collect, analyse, direct and interpret information and other relevant records, evaluate the information in the context of Botswana\u2019s efforts to money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, and other related crimes; disseminate financial intelligence to relevant competent Authorities.
\n\u00a0
\nDuties:
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Requests for financial information from reporting entities and other stakeholders to support operational queries.
\n\u2022 Receives and analyses suspicious transactions reports and regulatory information from reporting entities and law enforcement agencies.
\n\u2022 Collecting, processing and analyzing data sets of basic complexity and add value to enhance interpretation and establish if there are reasonable grounds for disclosure to relevant stakeholders.
\n\u2022 To apply analytical approaches to processes and crimes, detect proceeds of crime.
\n\u2022 Assist and contribute in the development, implementation and maintenance of the flow of information protocols with the Agency and between the Agency and its stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Inform relevant stakeholders through regular operational feedback and statistics to all operations.
\n\u2022 Undertake any other related duties as assigned by management.
