\nThe Botswana Trade Commission (BOTC) is a Parastatal under the Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship (MTE), established in 2013 through an act of Parliament pursuant to article 14 of the SACU Agreement of 2002. The Commission (BTC) is to promote fair international trade practices and to facilitate the development of international trade, to regulate the import and export of goods, to provide for the implementation of the SACU Agreement and to provide for matters incidental thereto. BTC is done with an aim to promote fair trade and industry competitiveness. The Commission wishes to attract Botswana Citizens into the following positions:

\nMAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
\n\u00a0
\nTo assist and provide and manage communication and public relations strategies, policies, and programmes that promote the Commission\u2019s image and visibility, protect its reputation and build positive relationships with key stakeholders through timely, consistent, and impactful communication aligned with the organisation\u2019s mission, vision and core objectives.

\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
\n\u00a0
\nQUALIFICATIONS
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Public Relations, Communications, journalism, Marketing or related field.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nEXPERIENCE
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 A minimum of seven (7) years professional experience in communications, public relations, media relations or marketing, two (2) of which should have been in a supervisory position.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nPROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Membership of a recognised professional body will be an added advantage.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nKEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Coordinate and implement PR and Communication strategies and frameworks.\u2022 Development of PR policies and strategies with organisational goals, government standards, and industry best practices.\u2022 Draft and disseminate press releases, articles, and speeches.\u2022 Build and maintain effective relationships with media houses and key stakeholders.\u2022 Organising internal and external events.\u2022 Coordinate timely responses to reputational risks and emerging issues.\u2022 Manage social media presence and online engagement.\u2022 Develop and implement content marketing and digital engagement strategies.\u2022 Liaise with other departments to ensure brand consistency.\u2022 Produce newsletters, circulars, and CEO\u2019s official communications.\u2022 Oversee the Commission\u2019s photography and video content.\u2022 Produce monthly and quarterly communication performance reports.\u2022 Adhere to performance management cycle deadlines.
