\nMain purpose of the position
\n\u00a0
\nTo plan, organise and manage the assigned scope of the GCF\/World Bank funded Renewable Energy Support and Access (RESA) project under Component 1 ensuring its safe, timely and cost effective delivery. The scope includes the installation of Static Synchronous Compensators (Statcoms) to improve power quality, upgrades to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, implementation of the Metering Data Management System (MDMS) and deployment of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) The role ensures that all engineering activities meet international standards and World Bank requirements

\nJob Responsibilities
\n\u00a0
\nSupervises the execution of tasks and outputs within agreed timelines.
\nEnsures delivery of high-quality work in an efficient manner by breaking objectives into tasks, scheduling, guiding and maintaining discipline.
\nMatches resources to the process or operational requirements and creatively uses resources to complete work efficiently.
\nAnalyses data to measure and evaluate productivity and quality against other teams.
\nManages multiple strategic projects impacting on the total organisation, using sophisticated program management methodologies and tools.
\nOversees and executes multiple projects in line with set time and quality management standards by developing a master programme and sub-programmes, creating contractors\/supplier contractual conditions and incorporating them into tender documents.
\nEstablishes quality management plan and persons responsibilities for implementation, monitors implementation of quality assurance and reports on obligations.
\nMonitors and records information flow against the agreed information flow programmes.
\nDevelops a cost \/ feasibility plan and establishes a cost coding structure for medium to large projects.
\nMonitors and reports on costs, controls changes to the cost plan and manage implementation of corrective action.
\nIdentifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures.
\nApplies knowledge of the discipline and innovative skills to stay abreast with new developments to improve own efficiency.
\nAddresses problems as related to own field of expertise.
\nApplies technical skill to accomplish the job effectively, communicates and translates technical terms so that others can understand.
\nAligns performance to organisational strategy, business model, revenue and profit drivers to create value.
\nPrioritizes activities of the team according to deliverables that will create the greatest value.

\nProvides engineering expertise in digital power system solutions, with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), STATCOM, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS). Advises on integration, operation, and optimization of these digital assets within the power network
\nManages the motivation and discipline of staff in area of responsibility in line with laid down procedures to realize the Corporation\u2019s objectives.
\nManages the performance of the team by working within a performance management system.
\nAdheres to all safety and loss control standards (Safety Health and Environmental) contained in the Corporation\u2019s standards.
\nUndertake such other related duties as directed by the supervisor from time to time to meet the exigencies of the Corporation.

\nQualifications
\n\u00a0
\nRecognised Degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
\nMembership of the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) is required.
\nAdditional project management qualifications will be an added
\n\u00a0
\nExperience
\n\u00a0
\nSeven (7) years post qualification experience in the power environment, two (2) years of which will have been in project management in a power environment.
\nExperience in digital upgrades particularly in data acquisition, data communication, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and related digital infrastructure is required.
\nExposure to large-scale grid-connected BESS projects and\/or utility digitalization initiatives will be an advantage
\nFamiliarity with World Bank or similar donor-funded project procedures and safeguards will be considered an asset
