\nVacancy: Diamond Markers

\nSDDS BOTSWANA a Diamond Cutting, and Polishing Factory seeks suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following vacant positions: Diamond Markers (X3).
\nThe main task of the Marker is to indicate the primary division of sawables and the table position for makeables. Each stone will be estimated for polished outcome with the parameters of color, quality, carat size and diameter in millimeters. The marking system will be based on two principles 1) producing SDDS qualifying polished and 2) the maximum value based on SDDS requirements. The Marker will be responsible for all diamonds and equipment supplied by the company for this purpose.

\nPrimary Job Requirements
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sorting rough goods into the required categories.<\/p>\n
Marking to maximize value based on SDDS requirements and producing estimated polished goods in the qualifying color and qualities.<\/p>\n
Nominate Sawn and Makeable stones for polished outcome size, color and clarity.<\/p>\n
Performs other diamond activities, meeting the required specifications and production targets. This may include: clarity grading, color grading, fluorescence grading, tension checking, marking for Turbo + Treatment.<\/p>\n
Liaises with inventory control to meet the production schedule requirements.<\/p>\n
Takes corrective action whenever quality\/productivity issues arise. This includes referring to procedures, being open to feedback, liaising with the factory leaders and colleagues. Emphasis on \u201cdoing it right the first time\u201d in every part of the operation is key.<\/p>\n
Training and development of local Diamond Markers & Diamond Re-planners.<\/p>\n

\nKey skills required:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
A basic understanding of polished grading and proportions.<\/p>\n
Good spoken English and Basic English writing ability.<\/p>\n
Experience with Galaxy, Sarine rough and polished evaluation technology.<\/p>\n
Rough sorting, polishing, sawing or cleaving experience would be an advantage.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications required:
\n\u00a0
\nBGCSE. Prospective candidates should be highly numerate.

\nExperience:
\n\u00a0
\nAt least 4 \u2013 5 years\u2019 Diamond Marking experience with expertise in checking parameters for Hearts & Arrows, EX, and VG makes.<\/p>\n
