\nThe Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) was established in 1995 as a Trust through a Presidential Directive. BIDPA focuses mainly on Research, Policy Analysis, Capacity building in policy analysis and provision of consultancy services to a wide array of stakeholders. \nJob Summary
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nThe position is responsible for carrying out the daily accounting routines and processing of accounting documentation in accordance with regulations and standard accounting practices to ensure the accurate accounting for all financial transactions.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nDuties and Responsibilities
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Data Entry and Record Keeping- Capturing financial data into ACCPAC accounting software, maintain accurate records, and filing physically & electronically.<\/p>\n
Invoice Processing- Process invoices, track payments, and ensure timely and accurate accounting for accounts payable and receivable.<\/p>\n
Reconciliations- Monthly reconciliations of bank statements, general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.<\/p>\n
Report Preparation- Assist in monthly preparation of financial reports and financial statements.<\/p>\n
Budgeting and Forecasting- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.<\/p>\n
Payroll Processing- Ensure accurate timely payroll processing<\/p>\n
Compliance- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax and PPRA<\/p>\n
Audit Support- Preparation of audit schedules for both internal and external audits.<\/p>\n
Insurance- Handle covers for both Assets and Staff<\/p>\n
Stock Records- Carry out stock counts and produce reports<\/p>\n
Fixed Asset Register\u2013 Maintain the Fixed Asset register<\/p>\n
Collaboration\u2013 Work closely with the finance team members to ensure smooth financial processes.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications and experience:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution.<\/p>\n
AAT (or part ACCA\/ CIMA)<\/p>\n
Five (5) years\u2019 experience in an automated accounting environment.<\/p>\n
BICA Membership<\/p>\n
Proficiency with Accounting System: AACPAC software or digital accounting environment.<\/p>\n
