\nBASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nThe purpose of this role is to ensure that the MMG-Khoemacau Expansion project is delivered on budget, perform cost control functions which include cost estimating and budgeting, cost control, cash out tracking and monitoring, cost forecasting and analysis, change management, cash call and reporting.

\n\u00a0
\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nYour key accountabilities include:
\n\u00a0
\nParticipating and assisting in developing detailed and accurate project budgets.\u2022 Establishing the project cost baseline and obtaining approval and endorsement from the project management team.\u2022 Implementing a cost control system to regularly (e.g., weekly\/monthly) tracking and recording all actual project costs.\u2022 Accurately comparing actual costs against budgets and forecasts.\u2022 Analysing cost variances, investigating the reasons for deviations, and providing clear analysis to the project management team.\u2022 Regularly updating the Estimate at Completion (EAC) based on project progress and trends, collaborating with all stakeholders.\u2022 Forecasting potential future cost overrun risks and issuing early warnings.\u2022 Preparing and submitting cost reports, dashboards, and presentations regularly, (e.g., weekly\/monthly) to clearly communicate the project\u2019s financial status to the project management team.\u2022 Maintaining close communication with the project management team, finance, procurement, and engineers to ensure the accuracy and consistency of cost information.\u2022 Assessing the cost impact of project change requests and assisting in adjusting budgets for changes.\u2022 Ensuring all changes are formally approved and reflected in the updated budget pool.\u2022 Participating in improving cost control processes, tools, and templates to enhance the efficiency of cost management across the project team.\u2022 Being visible in the field, conducting frequent interactions with operations teams\/contractors to understand work being done, and identifying opportunities to improve.\u2022 Always demonstrating safe behaviour and complying with the site\u2019s standards and procedures in SHEC.\u2022 Promoting awareness of SHEC practices and imbedding a safety culture.\u2022 Demonstrating effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals that support the department site and company standards.\u2022 Reporting all SHEC incidents.\u2022 Demonstrating leadership in SHEC through personal behaviours and conversations.

\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nBachelor\u2019s degree or higher in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\u2022 Chinese and English language ability to work under multi-culture environment.\u2022 PMP certificate or equivalent.\u2022 At least 5 years of experience in project cost control within energy industrial projects, experience in Mining industry or Concentrator Project is preferable.\u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced charts) for data analysis and modeling.\u2022 Experience of using ECOSYS, SAP or similar software or platforms on project execution.\u2022 Experience with cost control including project estimating, forecasting and cost management including reporting.\u2022 Experience with cost control and best practice on capital power projects.\u2022 In-depth understanding of project management and cost control principles, methods, and best practices (e.g., Earned Value Management \u2013 EVM).\u2022 Experience with specialized project management\/cost control software (e.g., Oracle Primavera P6, SAP, MS Project, Power BI).\u2022 On site experience in the countries in Southern Africa is preferable.<\/p>\n
