\n14) JUNIOR MINE PRODUCTION GEOLOGIST

\nBASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nThe Junior Mine Production Geologist will be responsible for providing fundamental geological and logistical support to the drilling and mine production programs. The primary focus is on the accurate and timely logging of drill core, sample management, and drill site coordination to ensure the efficient collection of high-quality geological data.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Supporting Mine Production Geologists by assisting with the inspection of underground excavations and the geological mapping of faces, ensuring all activities adhere to standard procedures and SHEC protocols.
\nProviding direct assistance to the Mine Production Geologists in the coordination of diamond drill programs, including monitoring drill hole progress, coordinating down-hole surveys, and maintaining drill tracking spreadsheets.
\nEnsuring all drill core is accurately logged, sampled, and the resulting geological data is entered into the database in a timely manner to support the grade control and resource modeling processes.
\nPerforming basic quality assurance and quality control (QA\/ QC) checks on core processing and sampling and assisting with contributions to daily and weekly geological reports and production summaries.
\nEstablishing and maintaining effective on-site communication with drill crews and contractors to ensure safety and production objectives are met, under the guidance of the Mine Production Geologist.
\nAssisting in the preparation and upkeep of basic plans, sections, and grade control models by compiling and validating input data as directed.<\/p>\n

\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
BSc in earth sciences or equivalent from an accredited institution
\n2-3 years experience in a logging position
\nKnowledge of mining software systems
\nExperience in reading maps, using a GPS, and driving off-road is preferred
\nProductive and capable of maintaining the drill logging requirements and schedule<\/p>\n
