\n8) HME MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

\nBASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

\nThe HME Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for technical expertise in the maintenance and reliability of light vehicles, heavy mining equipment, infrastructure and related services in the department. The role ensures safe, compliant and cost-effective maintenance practices, supporting continuous mining operations through effective maintenance management, equipment performance monitoring and adherence to legal and company standards.

\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nYour key accountabilities include:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Enforcing and promoting site SSHE standards, legal compliance and safe work procedures.
\nLeading and commissioning of new light vehicles and heavy machines.
\nCarrying out audits of already approved equipment for compliance with the ISO standard, contractual agreement or specifications and MQWMA regulations to maintain set standards.
\nEnsuring compliance with statutory inspections, tests and approvals, Quarterly inspections of (Pressure vessels, rigging equipment, overhead cranes, LV lifting hoists, etc.) and serviced in accordance with manufacturers\u2019 specifications
\nReviewing mining contracts, standards, procedures and ensuring conformance to Principal requirements and best industry practices.
\nDeveloping and implementing QA and inspection procedures for equipment.
\nManaging and optimising maintenance plans and work management systems.
\nAnalysing equipment performance and maintenance data to improve reliability.
\nLeading failure investigations and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
\nPlanning and supporting Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) activities.
\nManaging and optimising critical and strategic spares inventory.
\nProviding high-level technical support and mentoring to maintenance teams.<\/p>\n

\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
National Craft Certificate or equivalent in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Plant Mechanics, Millwright or related discipline.
\nA minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a mining environment doing HME plant maintenance, at least 3 years of which must be in a supervisory position.
\nDemonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills as well as post-failure analysis on equipment such as Sandvik, Volvo and Normet Equipment.
\nAbility to read and understand schematics and technical drawings and to effectively communicate detailed and complex.
\nCapable of reading and understanding schematics and technical drawings, as well as effectively communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
\nAudit and analysis experience with reliability-centred Maintenance methods implemented on HME fleet.<\/p>\n
