\nLecturer\/Senior Lecturer (4 Year Contract Position) * REF: Vacancy No. IRC 2917

\nRequirement: Candidates should have a (i) PhD in in History or related field; (ii) Master\u2019s degree in History or related field; (iii) a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in History\/Humanities (majoring in History), with at least 2(i) pass\/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages (i) Evidence of Governance and Social Engagement; (ii) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution preferably in History or related field.

\nUNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: Lecturer Added advantage; Senior Lecturer 3 years.

\nDuties: The successful candidates will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses; (ii) The candidate should be able to teach at least the following courses: Civilisation and Modernsiation in China and Japan, Independence and Colonialism in South Asia, Civilisations of the Ancient Near East and Mediterranean, Historical Research Methods and Historiography of Botswana, History and Political Economy of Land in Botswana, Philosophy of History, and Research Proposal for Dissertation; (iii) The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined above; (iv) The successful candidate must also be able to take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate research work; (v) The successful candidate will also undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by his\/her supervisor.<\/p>\n
