The focus lies on bringing value to customers through high performing products that increase productivity and safety as well as to provide services and flexible maintenance programs that extend uptime and cut costs.<br \/>\nSandvik Botswana is seeking a highly skilled\u00a0Workshop Supervisor\u00a0to lead and manage workshop operations, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with OEM standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in rock drills and mining equipment, combined with leadership skills to drive efficiency and safety<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Manage Workshop Operations \u2013 Oversee daily activities including rebuilds, diagnostics, repairs, and returns.<br \/>\nEnsure Technical Quality \u2013 Maintain OEM standards in all work performed; ensure first-time fix accuracy.<br \/>\nPlan and Allocate Resources \u2013 Assign jobs to technicians based on skill and workload; manage shift schedules.<br \/>\nMonitor Job Progress and Turnaround \u2013 Track job timelines to ensure timely delivery and minimize downtime.<br \/>\nControl Costs and Job Efficiency \u2013 Manage labor, parts, and overhead to ensure cost-effective operations.<br \/>\nMaintain Safety and Compliance \u2013 Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workshop.<br \/>\nManage Inventory and Tooling \u2013 Ensure availability and proper use of parts, tools, and equipment.<br \/>\nLead and Develop Technicians \u2013 Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to workshop staff.<br \/>\nCustomer and Stakeholder Communication \u2013 Liaise with clients, service advisors, and OEM representatives on job status and expectations.<br \/>\nReport on KPIs and Continuous Improvement \u2013 Track and report key metrics; drive process improvements and corrective actions.<\/p>\n<p>Profile<\/p>\n<p>Qualification: National Craft Certificate (NCC) or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.<br \/>\nExperience: Minimum 8 years total experience in Sandvik equipment maintenance and workshop operations.<br \/>\nAt least 4 years\u2019 hands-on experience working with rock drills such as RD535, RD1635.<br \/>\nGeneral experience and training on surface drills, boom drills, pedestal drills, underground drills, and loaders.<br \/>\nBasic experience in servicing rock drills, axles, rotary heads, and hammers.<br \/>\nProven experience in commissioning loaders, drills (underground\/surface), and trucks.<br \/>\nStrong understanding of OEM standards, diagnostics, and rebuild processes.<br \/>\nKnowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Skills &amp; Competencies<\/p>\n<p>Strong Leadership and Team management skills.<br \/>\nExcellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.<br \/>\nAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<br \/>\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n<p>How to apply<br \/>\nPlease apply online through Workday (ESS), or access the Sandvik website www.home.sandvik\/en\/careers, reference<br \/>\nApplications close: 31 December 2025<br \/>\nWe offer you an interesting role in an international business environment as well as opportunities for your professional development.
