Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
To contribute to the development of the University\u2019s strategy, policies, processes and procedures
\nDevelop and lead the execution of a comprehensive faculty strategic plan, policies and procedures in line with the University\u2019s overall goals.
\nMonitor and evaluate the performance of Faculty operations against established goals and objectives, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending corrective action as needed.
\nDrive strategic initiatives to enhance academic excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
\nPromote a culture of service excellence, manage resources effectively and drive change where necessary in order to build the reputation of the Faculty.
\nEnsure the development and delivery of high-quality academic programmes that meet accreditation standards and respond to the needs of students
\nFoster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
\nLead the faculty\u2019s research agenda, encouraging a culture of research excellence and impactful contributions to knowledge
\nAdvance research initiatives and foster innovation.
\nStrengthen university outreach and service initiatives in support of becoming an engaged university.
\nPrioritize student success by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
\nDevelopment and lead the implementation on initiatives to enhance student engagement, retention, and overall academic experience.
\nCultivate and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, government agencies, and community organizations.
\nRepresent the faculty in key academic and professional forums.
\nAdvocate for the faculty\u2019s interests and contributions at the university and broader community levels.
\nProvide excellent customer services ensuring client and stakeholder satisfaction.
\nResolve customer enquiries and issues in a timely and efficient manner.
\nIdentify and address areas of improvement for customer and stakeholder experience
\nDevelop and manage the faculty risk register with clear mitigation strategies.
\nCoordinate and support internal and external faculty audits as per the university policy.
\nAddress audit findings and recommendations to improve processes and controls
\nEnsure faculty compliance to legislative and statutory requirements
\nCollaborate with the legal and compliance departments to address legal and regulatory issues
\nProvide leadership in recruiting, mentoring, and retaining a diverse and accomplished faculty
\nCoordinate and support internal and external faculty audits as per the university policy
\nAddress audit findings and recommendations to improve processes and controls
\nEnsure faculty compliance to legislative and statutory requirements
\nCollaborate with the legal and compliance departments to address legal and regulatory issues.
\nProvide leadership in recruiting, mentoring, and retaining a diverse and accomplished faculty.

\nEngage and discipline staff I accordance with defined human resources management policies and procedures and prevailing labor laws
\nDevelop and manage the faculty budget
\nRecommend expenditure in accordance with delegated limits
\nIdentify opportunities to generate additional revenue and \/or funding for the faculty.
\nPrudently manage faculty costs highlighting clear return on investments for the university
\nUndertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
A minimum of PhD\/Doctorate in relevant discipline. A relevant Master\u2019s degree or fellowship in the area of discipline is mandatory.
\nA minimum of ten (10) years\u2019 experience in teaching, research, governance and social engagement experience in a higher institution re required.
\nMust have served a minimum of three (3) years as Head of School\/Deputy Dean or their equivalent.
\nMember of recognized professional body
\nSubstantial academic leadership experience, preferably in a university setting
\nStrong record of scholarly achievements and research
\nDemonstrated success in strategic planning and implementation
\nExcellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
\nCommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
\nFinancial acumen and budget management experience<\/p>\n
