Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Lead the packaging team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment and team interaction
\nLead the development of packaging team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members
\nConduct regular packaging team goal review sessions, and conduct regular one-on-one and performance reviews.
\nEnsure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members
\nEnsure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the packaging team
\nSafety and Housekeeping
\nEnsure that the packaging team apply proper safety and housekeeping procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks
\nEnsure implementation of the appropriate SAB and legislative policies (such as OSH act) on safety and housekeeping.
\nEnsure that safety and housekeeping receive the appropriate focus through regular checks and safety audits
\nWhere unsafe work practice have been identified, the packaging manager is responsible for correcting this
\nEnsures adherence to PPE policy
\nGeneral production housekeeping
\nSafe maintenance practices audited
\nEnsures adherence to SHE system requirements
\nDrive the implementation of VPO in accordance with the zone and plant implementation actions
\nDrive safety and legal compliance in the packaging hall<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
\nminimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in Production Maintenance Management with deep expertise in asset management
\nExperience of managing and running a high speed packaging line would be highly advantageous
\nA minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in managing people
\nDemonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a packaging hall (financial, operational, people)<\/p>\n
