Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Provide blasting technical support to the customer
\nDrive and promote safe use of Explosives at all times
\nConduct technical projects, new business projects, and all value-add projects for Motheo Copper Mine.
\nConduct product conversions and introductions to customer
\nConduct research and generate recommendations to customers for improved and safe blasting practices
\nCommunicate and interpret the blast design data to customer and ensure competent operation of the blasting tools
\nLiaise with the customer on all blasting related technical issues
\nConduct and facilitate technically related training and occasional refreshers to the customer for safe and efficient use of explosives
\nAttend to customer complaints, problems and issues relating to quality and performance of the explosives
\nProduct Quality management for the business
\nLiaison with customer\u2019s upper and middle management in order to accurately plan production and resource requirements in the medium and short terms
\nAssist the Site Manager to manage the World Class system implementation and its application to his area of responsibility and constantly strive towards continuous improvement
\nAssist Management in implementing company values
\nEnsure that all Standards relating to explosives and their application and quality are adhered to at all times and regularly audited<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
At least a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Mining Engineering or Mining related discipline
\nAt least 5 years\u2019 experience in an Explosives Handling Open Pit Mining environment at least 2 of which were at Senior Technical Officer level
\nStrong blasting technical skills
\nExplosives Engineers Certificate or any blasting related technical training
\nBe in possession of a valid driver\u2019s License
\nBe a Botswana Citizen
\nBe in possession of a valid Open Pit Blasting Licence
\nMust be fluent in both Setswana and English
\nGood understanding of the Explosives Act and, the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other relevant legislative requirements
\nKnowledge of and experience in AECI\u2019s electronic blasting products is an added advantage
