Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Safely carry out blasting operations
\nSupervise the Prime, Load, Tie and Shoot (PLTS) blasting operations team
\nEnforce controlled blasting at all times
\nSupervise explosives handling during transportation to and from the bench and also during charging
\nImplementation of blast designs, charging plans and timing plans
\nBlasting operations Legal appointment
\nImplement the company and client\u2019s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards
\nEnforcement of the regulatory and statutory compliance
\nAssist with compilation of explosives returns and explosives inventory reconciliation
\nImplementation and enforcement of governance, policies and procedures.
\nEnsure that all the blasts are monitored for improved results
\nSafe keeping of the blasting tools and equipment<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
At least a Cambridge O\u2019 Level\/ BGCE certificate or equivalent
\nAt least 6 years\u2019 experience in a Prime, Load, Tie and Shoot (PLTS) Open Pit environment, at least three (3) of which were at a Blaster Level
\nBe in possession of valid driver\u2019s License
\nBe in possession of a valid Open Pit Blasting Licence
\nBe a Botswana Citizen
\nMust be fluent in both Setswana and English
\nKnowledge of and experience in AECI electronic blasting products is an added advantage
\nBlasting technical knowledge
\nGood understanding of the Explosives Act and, the Mines, Works, Quarries and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other relevant legislative requirements
\nPunctual
