ARCON Design Build PLC is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Drilling Operator to operate and oversee drilling rigs for geotechnical and related engineering projects. The role involves safe and efficient drilling operations, supervision of site activities, and ensuring accurate core recovery and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Operate drilling rigs and related equipment safely and efficiently.
Supervise site drilling crews and coordinate daily activities.
Ensure proper core recovery, sampling, and documentation.
Conduct basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of drilling equipment.
Follow geotechnical investigation procedures and safety standards.
Monitor drilling progress and report site challenges to supervisors.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work sites.
Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies.
About You
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
Grade 10/12 complete or related technical field.
Training in drilling operations is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of proven experience operating drilling rigs.
Geotechnical or mining drilling experience is preferred.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of drilling methods and core recovery techniques.
Familiarity with basic mechanical maintenance and geotechnical procedures.
Skills
Equipment operation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Leadership abilities and strong communication skills.
