The Environmental, Hygiene, Health & Safety (EHHS) Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. This role involves implementing and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with factory, local, and international EHHS regulations and standards. The EHHS Officer will work closely with the Environmental, Hygiene, Health, and Safety (EHHS) Manager to promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and hygiene best practices. Additionally, the EHHS officer will play a key role in fostering continuous improvement in workplace safety, hygiene, and environmental performance.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nHealth & Safety:<\/p>\n
Implement and maintain workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
\nConduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
\nInvestigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for prevention.
\nEnsure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
\nMonitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety measures across all departments.
\nOrganize and deliver safety training programs for employees to enhance awareness and compliance.
\nMaintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.<\/p>\n
Environmental Management:<\/p>\n
Implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations and standards.
\nConduct environmental impact assessments and recommend sustainable practices to minimize the organization\u2019s environmental footprint.
\nOversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of wastes.
\nPromote and implement sustainability initiatives such as greenery projects.<\/p>\n
Hygiene & Workplace Sanitation:<\/p>\n
Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards within the workplace to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
\nConduct regular inspections to ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness, and hygiene practices are maintained.
\nEnsure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, particularly in areas involving food handling or production.
\nCollaborate with department managers to address sanitation issues and implement improvements.<\/p>\n
Emergency Preparedness & Response:<\/p>\n
Maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and first aid protocols.
\nConduct regular drills to test the effectiveness of emergency plans and update them as necessary.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
BSC degree in environmental sciences or occupational health and safety or a related field.
\nMore than 3 years\u2019 experience
\nComputer skills (ERP Software.
