The Planning & Programming Head is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of farm operations to ensure optimal resource utilization and achievement of production targets. This role plays a pivotal part in aligning daily, monthly, and annual operational activities with the farm\u2019s strategic goals while ensuring compliance with best agricultural practices.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Strategic Planning:<\/p>\n
Develop and implement short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans for integrated farm activities (crop production, livestock, fisheries, etc.).
\nAlign plans with business objectives, ensuring profitability, sustainability, and quality standards are maintained.<\/p>\n
Operational Programming:<\/p>\n
Create and monitor detailed schedules for planting, harvesting, livestock management, equipment maintenance, and other farm activities.
\nOptimize resource allocation, including labor, machinery, and raw materials.<\/p>\n
Data Analysis & Reporting:<\/p>\n
Track farm performance metrics and analyze data to provide actionable insights.
\nPrepare and present periodic progress reports to the management team.<\/p>\n
Resource Coordination:<\/p>\n
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and farm departments to ensure timely availability of inputs such as seeds, feed, and fertilizers.
\nOversee inventory management for farm resources and supplies.<\/p>\n
Team Management:<\/p>\n
Lead and mentor a team of planners and schedulers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
\nProvide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Risk Management:<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, environmental laws, and safety standards.
\nIdentify risks in operations and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.<\/p>\n
Technology Utilization:<\/p>\n
Promote the use of technology and innovative tools (e.g., farm management software, GIS, drones) to improve operational efficiency.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualification <\/p>\n
BSc or MSc in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Statistics, Agronomy, Business Administration, or related fields.
\nProven experience in planning and scheduling, ideally in integrated farming systems.
\nStrong knowledge of agricultural practices, supply chain management, and resource allocation.<\/p>\n
Experience: <\/p>\n
6 years for BSc
\n4 years for MSc<\/p>\n
