For more information, please visit our website: http:\/\/www.islamic-relief.org\/work-with-us<br \/>\nJob Objective<br \/>\nThe TSFP Nurse is responsible for improving the nutritional status of vulnerable communities by treating moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) and preventing further deterioration. This includes the provision of therapeutic food, routine medications, health and nutrition education, and supporting the Woreda Health Office in the effective management of moderate acute malnutrition.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\nObjective 1: Ensure Effective Implementation of TSFP Activities<\/p>\n<p>Plan and organize TSFP activities at Community , health centers and posts in coordination with other nutrition team.<br \/>\nDevelop an actionable plan for efficient TSFP implementation in consultation with the Senior Nutrition Officer<br \/>\nProvide ongoing supportive supervision to Health Workers (HWs), Health Extension Workers (HEWs), and Food Distribution Agents (FDAs).<br \/>\nEnsure accurate anthropometric measurements of children and adherence to admission, discharge, and transfer criteria.<br \/>\nOversee health assessments and treatments according to national protocols.<br \/>\nReview reporting forms for accuracy and completeness.<br \/>\nEnsure strict compliance with national guidelines by HWs\/HEWs\/FDAs.<br \/>\nMonitor stock levels and ensure timely pre-positioning of medical and food supplies.<br \/>\nCollaborate with CMAM Nurses to ensure smooth referrals and consistent understanding of program protocols.<br \/>\nReport any supply quality or quantity issues to the Senior Nutrition Officer.<br \/>\nEnsure proper follow-up and referral for non-admitted cases with clear communication to caregivers.<br \/>\nActively follow up on absentees, long-stay cases, underperforming children, and those with social issues.<br \/>\nProvide on-the-job training to frontline health staff on key health and education messages.<br \/>\nSupport technical inquiries at TSFP sites and offer assistance to Woreda Health Office staff as needed.<br \/>\nAssist in compiling statistical data from health facilities.<br \/>\nEstablish and maintain collaborative relationships with local authorities and community leaders.<br \/>\nEngage with various community groups and facilitate periodic meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Additional Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.<br \/>\nMaintain clear communication and reporting on progress and challenges related to assigned tasks.<br \/>\nReport any professional concerns or issues to the Senior Nutrition Officer.<br \/>\nUphold Islamic Relief\u2019s staff regulations, values, and code of conduct at all times.<br \/>\nBe flexible and adaptable in a dynamic work environment.<\/p>\n<p>About You<\/p>\n<p>Personal Specification<br \/>\nFormal Education\/Qualification and Work Experience <\/p>\n<p>Qualified Nurse in Degree and Diploma with at least two years and four years of professional experience of emergency nutrition work (preferably CMAM) respectively<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.<br \/>\nProven ability to collaborate with Woreda Health Offices and community health structures.<br \/>\nPrior experience in NGO settings is an added advantage.<br \/>\nWillingness to travel frequently to remote villages and stay in the field under challenging conditions.<br \/>\nCompetence in preparing clear and concise program reports.<br \/>\nExcellent spoken and written English languages; and local language (Somali) is Mandatory<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Competences<br \/>\nSafeguarding and Equal Opportunity<br \/>\nIslamic Relief and Islamic Relief staff considers the welfare and protection of children, young people and people at risk to be paramount to the organization.
