ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 15 Regional Offices, Zonal Branches and District\/Woreda Branches, Woreda Red Cross Committee and Kebele Red Cross committees.<br \/>\nERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs relating to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity building interventions, with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering National Societies, members, volunteers and the communities we serve.<br \/>\nDetails of the vacant position<br \/>\nJob Title: Membership Development Senior Officer<br \/>\nWork Unit: DSG for Volunteerism, Membership and Youth Development<br \/>\nReports to: Membership Coordinator<br \/>\nTerms of employment: Contract<br \/>\nPlace of Work: Addis Ababa<br \/>\nSalary: Negotiable<br \/>\nJob summary<br \/>\nThe Membership Development Senior Officer will lead the development and execution of ERCS\u2019s membership programs, focusing on the recruitment, retention, and mobilization of members nationwide. This role involves cultivating a culture of member engagement while ensuring alignment with the humanitarian principles and mission of ERCS. The officer will implement innovative strategies, including digitalizing membership systems, to enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, and accessibility.<br \/>\n Roles and Responsibilities<br \/>\nSpecifically, the membership development senior officer is expected to carry out the following duties\/responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Supports the development and implementation of a comprehensive members\u2019 recruitment strategy targeting diverse populations across Ethiopia, including urban and rural areas.<br \/>\nCoordinates national membership campaigns and local initiatives to raise the number of Red Cross members across branches.<br \/>\nSupports branches to create partnerships with schools, universities, local organizations, government institutions, Non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, and the private sector to expand their membership pools.<br \/>\nSupports branches to improve members\u2019 retention, ensuring that members feel valued, supported, and motivated to continue their support for ERCS.<br \/>\nFacilitates the members\u2019 recognition systems at the National level.<br \/>\nDesign and implement innovative programs to increase member engagement and satisfaction.<br \/>\nWork closely with regional and zonal branches to align membership recruitment and retention efforts with ERCS\u2019s overall strategy.<br \/>\nFacilitate communication and knowledge-sharing between branches, fostering collaboration and consistency in membership programs.<br \/>\nRegularly visit branches to assess membership initiatives, provide guidance, and address challenges<br \/>\nSpearhead the implementation of digital tools for membership registration, renewal, and tracking.<br \/>\nOversee the creation and execution of membership development plans in alignment with organizational goals.<br \/>\nAnalyze membership data, including branch-level metrics, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.<br \/>\nPrepare and present regular reports, incorporating insights from regional and zonal branches, on membership growth and engagement outcomes<br \/>\nEnsure systems are user-friendly, accessible, and efficient for both central and branch-level operations.<br \/>\nOrganize campaigns, events, and activities to mobilize and engage members nationwide.<br \/>\nCollaborate with branches to ensure regional and local activities align with ERCS\u2019s priorities and humanitarian principles.<br \/>\nSupport branches in adopting and optimizing digital membership systems, offering training and troubleshooting as needed.<br \/>\nIdentify and address barriers to membership growth.<br \/>\nLiaisons with projects and other departments to support membership initiatives of ERCS.<br \/>\nAssesses and selects feasible digital tools and platforms for members\u2019 recruitment and engagement.<br \/>\nRegularly follows up on branch membership performance and reports on the status of members\u2019 recruitment\/retention, and overall membership program.<\/p>\n<p>About You<\/p>\n<p>Job Specification: <\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s or BA degree in Management, International Development, Public Administration, Regional and Local development, Development studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Leadership, Organizational development, Political Science and International relation and<br \/>\n6\/8 years of experience, with at least 3\/4 years of experience in members\u2019 management and community mobilization more preferably in membership based humanitarian or non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Personal Attributes: <\/p>\n<p>Knowledge and skill in membership management practices.<br \/>\nAbility to develop strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.<br \/>\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.<br \/>\nProficiency in digital systems and tools for membership management.<br \/>\nAbility to analyze and interpret data for decision-making.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with humanitarian principles and values.<br \/>\nLeadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse membership base.<br \/>\nAbility to work
