\nBrief Description of the project\/ unit
\nAs an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations, the federally owned Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its development-policy objectives. In Ethiopia, GIZ has been working for more than 50 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on commission of the Ethiopian government and international donors.
\nGIZ Ethiopia is looking to recruit a Junior Communication specialist to the Support the communication of Support to Responsible Agricultural Investment (S2RAI) Project which is a country chapter of the Global Program Responsible Land Policy (GPRLP).
\nThe Support to Responsible Agricultural Investments Project has and is promoting internationally recognized principles and guidelines such as the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests (VGGT), and Responsible Agricultural Investment (RAI) to ensure food security and secure land tenure rights for communities in the context of large-scale commercial land investment. GIZ aims to strengthen regional governmental actors, civil society organizations and agricultural investors\u2019 capacities and capabilities.

\nJob Description
\nResponsibilities<\/p>\n
Support the S2RAI project in promoting and executing communication strategy.
\nServe as the project\u2019s point of contact with consultants, national and regional partners and development organizations, and other stakeholders.
\nManage the project\u2019s communications digital library\/archive, including specific communications, reports, and other materials such as videos, pictures, and other media.
\nSupport the supervision of activities of short-term consultants and service providers working for the project in the area of communications such as graphic designers, videography and photography consultancies, and printers.
\nAssure the quality of communication and visibility products (e.g., brochures, factsheets, PowerPoint presentations) is as per GIZ standards.
\nImplement standards and guidelines for GIZ and partners communication work.
\nCommunicate with GIZ\u2019s PR & Communications Unit for consultations, communication products quality check and monthly jour fixe and networking.
\nSupport the project team in event organization, facilitation, and coordination.<\/p>\n
Duties<\/p>\n
Develop suitable communication and visibility products (e.g., brochures, factsheets, Power Point presentations, information sheets, web descriptions, etc.).
\nCollaborate with project staff members to produce effective communication and awareness raising materials.
\nEnsure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing; and have followed BMZ, GIZ and other partners\u2019 standards and guidelines.
\nManage the production of publications and materials in accordance with BMZ and GIZ standards (corporate design, standards for content).
\nOrganize and facilitate various physical and\/or virtual events (e.g., workshops, meetings).
\nSupport the development and dissemination of knowledge and experience through enhanced communication, strengthened knowledge products and publications.
\nPerform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the project manager.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
University degree (minimum B.A.) from an accredited university or college in journalism, communications, public relations, or any other related field.<\/p>\n
Professional experience<\/p>\n
1-year related work experience is required.<\/p>\n
Other knowledge, additional competencies<\/p>\n
Knowledge of desktop publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, MS Publisher, etc.
\nExcellent working knowledge of social media (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
\nHigh level of knowledge in the MS Office package and MS Teams
\nFluent in writing, reading, and speaking in English and Amharic
\nExcellent text comprehension and written and oral communication\/expression
\nAbility to give and receive constructive criticism
\nHigh degree of creativity, initiative, integrity, accountability, and an independent proactive approach
\nGood interpersonal skills and team spirit, ability to work in an international team
