Job Description: Mobile App Backend Developer (Contract Position) | iOS Mobile App Developer
\nWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated App Backend Developer (iOS App Developer) to join our team for an exciting new project with immense potential to make a significant impact in East Africa. This is a 3-month contract role, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. You will have the unique opportunity to work alongside and learn from seasoned engineers and architects with experience at organizations like Google, Amazon, Samsung, DocuSign, and Dell.

\nImplement secure and scalable data storage and retrieval mechanisms.
\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver project requirements.
\nTroubleshoot and debug issues to ensure system stability and performance while delivering high-quality, reliable code.
\nConduct code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
\nStay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies.<\/p>\n
OR for iOS Mobile App Developer <\/p>\n
Develop, maintain, and enhance iOS applications with a focus on high-quality, user-friendly designs.
\nImplement UI\/UX designs in accordance with Apple\u2019s Human Interface Guidelines.
\nIntegrate and optimize APIs for seamless interaction with backend systems.
\nWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Swift and SwiftUI.
\nOptimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness.
\nTroubleshoot and debug issues to ensure a smooth user experience.
\nCollaborate closely with designers, backend developers, and stakeholders to meet project goals.
\nStay current with emerging iOS trends and technologies to incorporate them into development.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Required Skills and Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Proven experience as a Backend Developer or in a similar role.
\nProficiency in backend frameworks and languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java, or Go.
\nExperience with RESTful APIs.
\nStrong understanding of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL databases).
\nHands-on experience integrating and managing payment gateways such as Telebirr, Chapa, Sentimpay, etc ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient transaction processing in backend systems.
\nHands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
\nKnowledge of CI\/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
\nExperience with version control systems like Git.
\nExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
\nUnderstanding of security best practices, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.<\/p>\n
OR for iOS Mobile App Developer <\/p>\n
Proven experience in developing iOS applications with Swift.
\nStrong understanding of iOS SDK, Xcode, and associated tools.
\nExperience with iOS frameworks like Core Animation, Core Location, and Swift Data.
\nFamiliarity with UIKit and\/or SwiftUI for UI development.
\nExperience with RESTful APIs or GraphQL for data integration.
\nStrong debugging and performance optimization skills, including memory management.
\nFamiliarity with third-party libraries and tools such as Realm, Lottie or Firebase.
\nExperience with version control systems, particularly Git.
\nExperience with payment control systems, particularly Git.<\/p>\n
Additional Skills:<\/p>\n
Experience integrating mobile payment systems such as Telebirr, Sentimpay, Chapa, or similar APIs into iOS applications, ensuring secure and seamless transaction workflows.
\nKnowledge of Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and testing tools like XCTest and UI automation frameworks is a plus.<\/p>\n
