We are a results-oriented organization committed to implementing efficient, effective, and sustainable charitable interventions across Ethiopia.<br \/>\nCurrently, PAD is undertaking a major scale-up of its programs, with a focus on urban destitution, peacebuilding and democratization, child protection, youth development, support for migrant returnees, health, and livelihood development. We are also implementing humanitarian projects, including Shelter and Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), targeting low-income and vulnerable women, children, youth, and adults.<br \/>\nAs part of this expansion, PAD is extending its operations to several regions, including Addis Ababa, Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, Harari, and the Somali, South Regional State.<br \/>\nPAD is now seeking to hire a qualified professional for its EHF-funded project.<br \/>\nDuties and responsibilities<br \/>\nUnder the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the MHNT Midwife will play a key role in delivering integrated reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) services in hard-to-reach and conflict-affected areas through the Mobile Health and Nutrition Team (MHNT) as part of the EHF-funded project. The midwife will be responsible for the implementation of quality maternal and newborn care services in line with national guidelines and project objectives.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Provide comprehensive antenatal care (ANC), delivery, and postnatal care (PNC) for mothers and newborns under BEmONC protocols.<br \/>\nIdentify, manage, and refer obstetric and neonatal complications (e.g., pre-eclampsia, hemorrhage, sepsis, newborn asphyxia) in a timely and safe manner.<br \/>\nSupport the clean and safe delivery process, including the use of AMTSL, newborn resuscitation, and postpartum care.<br \/>\nProvide family planning counseling and services, ensuring informed choice and method availability.<br \/>\nConduct maternal and newborn health education during community outreach, including nutrition counseling for pregnant and lactating women.<br \/>\nCollaborate with MHNT team members to ensure holistic and integrated health and nutrition services.<br \/>\nConduct routine screening for malnutrition among PLWs and newborns, and refer cases for appropriate care.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate and complete medical records and HMIS reports related to maternal and newborn services.<br \/>\nMonitor and follow up on pregnancy outcomes and newborn conditions, providing referrals as needed.<br \/>\nParticipate in community sensitization efforts to promote institutional delivery, ANC attendance, and danger sign recognition.<br \/>\nSupport the implementation of infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols during service delivery.<br \/>\nProvide on-the-job support and technical guidance to community health workers and CNVs related to maternal and newborn care.<br \/>\nCollaborate with the MHNT team in the mapping of referral services, particularly for emergency obstetric and neonatal care.<br \/>\nActively engage in early recovery planning and restoration of reproductive health services in disaster-affected areas.<br \/>\nPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure smooth and effective MHNT operations.<\/p>\n<p>About You<\/p>\n<p>Qualification: BSc Degree in Midwifery from a recognized and accredited institution with a Valid Professional license.<br \/>\nExperience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in maternal and reproductive health service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Prior experience in emergency response, mobile health outreach, or hard-to-reach settings is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Skills Required:<\/p>\n<p>Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEmONC).<br \/>\nProficient in antenatal, skilled delivery, and postnatal care, including active management of the third stage of labor (AMTSL).<br \/>\nAbility to manage common obstetric and neonatal emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia, sepsis, and newborn resuscitation.<br \/>\nSkilled in providing family planning counseling and services.<br \/>\nCompetence in infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols and safe delivery practices.<br \/>\nExperience in clinical documentation, completion of HMIS registers, and accurate reporting.<br \/>\nCapacity to provide health education to pregnant and lactating women (PLWs) on nutrition, hygiene, and danger signs.<br \/>\nAbility to conduct nutrition screening (e.g., MUAC) for PLWs and refer cases of concern.<br \/>\nGood interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity in engaging communities.<br \/>\nAbility to work under pressure and in hard-to-reach or emergency settings as part of a mobile health team.<br \/>\nAbility to train and mentor other health workers and support community-level maternal and newborn health promotion.<br \/>\nWorking computer Knowledge (Microsoft Office packages)<\/p>\n<p>Other:<\/p>\n<p>Willingness to travel to and work in remote and hard-to-reach locations.<br \/>\nAbility to work effectively in a mobile team setting with flexibility and cultural sensitivity.<\/p>\n<p>Number required: one<br \/>\nSalary: As per the organization\u2019s Salary Scale<br \/>\nDuty Station: Roving position between Gazgibla and Abergele Woredas, Waghimra Zone, Amhara Region.
