Project Mercy Ethiopia is an international non-profit humanitarian organization working in different regions of Ethiopia to improve the well-being and livelihood of people in the rural communities. We are seeking to hire an experienced, highly motivated, and qualified person to fill the vacant position of Senior Accountant. The incumbent will manage and oversee the financial records, ensuring that financial statements are accurate, compliant with relevant regulations, and prepared in a timely manner.
\nPrincipal Duties include:<\/p>\n
Verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable; producing error-free accounting reports
\nProducing Accounting reports and presenting their results,
\nSummarizing and reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually, the financial status.
\nReview and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures
\nPrepare financial statements and produce a budget according to the established schedule,
\nAssist External Auditors in their engagement with Project Mercy\u2019s Auditing,
\nPlan, assign and review accounting staff\u2019s work
\nAccomplishment of other related tasks<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes:<\/p>\n
Graduate in Accounting and Finance from a recognized (accepted) University, with additional certification (ACCA) is a plus,
\nWork experience as a Senior Accountant
\nThorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
\nIn-depth understanding of both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS),
\nTime Management
\nTeam work
\nCommunication
\nExcellent level in computer software (office pack Word, Excel, PowerPoint )
\nFinancial Report Writing Skill,<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
BA Degree \/Master\u2019s Degree in relevant field (Accounting, Finance and related field, )<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
Minimum Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of experience as a Senior Accountant, Finance Expert, and\/or Accountant or related.<\/p>\n
