\nPosition Overview
\nWe are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Data and Insights Assistant to support our data and program teams. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who have foundational skills in data management, statistical analysis, and visualization, and are looking to grow their experience in a collaborative, impact-driven environment. The successful candidate will assist in organizing, analyzing, and presenting program data to support evidence-based decision-making.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Data Support and Management<\/p>\n
Assist in collecting, cleaning, and validating data from various program activities.
\nSupport the maintenance of structured data files and project-specific datasets.
\nHelp standardize column names and values for consistency across datasets.
\nRun basic SQL queries to support data uploads and updates.<\/p>\n
2. Basic Data Analysis<\/p>\n
Conduct simple data summaries (e.g., averages, frequencies, cross-tabulations).
\nSupport the review of program data to identify patterns and gaps.
\nAssist in generating descriptive statistics to support reporting.<\/p>\n
3. Data Visualization and Reporting<\/p>\n
Help create basic charts and tables in Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
\nContribute to the preparation of visual content for internal reports and presentations.
\nAssist with organizing geographic data for mapping exercises.<\/p>\n
4. Team Collaboration<\/p>\n
Work closely with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) staff and program teams to understand data needs.
\nSupport the Data and Insights team in data entry, cleaning, and quality checks.
\nParticipate in team meetings and provide data-related support as needed.<\/p>\n
5. Documentation and Archiving<\/p>\n
Assist in maintaining up-to-date data records and documentation (e.g., file naming, storage, and metadata).
\nHelp archive data from completed projects in line with organizational standards.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications
\nEducation<\/p>\n
Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Statistics, Data Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of work experience in data management, analysis, or related roles, preferably in a development, public health, or research setting.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
Basic proficiency in SQL (ability to run simple queries).
\nFamiliarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
\nExposure to statistical tools such as R, STATA, or SPSS is an advantage.
\nUnderstanding of basic data cleaning and entry processes.<\/p>\n
