\n1. Job Overview
\nThe Social Worker will be responsible for supporting the implementation of child protection activities at the Kebele or IDP site level under the guidance of the CPiE Program Officer. The role involves coordination with community structures, provision of technical support, and ensuring adherence to international and national standards for child protection and gender-based violence (GBV) in humanitarian contexts.
\n2. Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Collaborate with Imagine1day, Woreda Women and Children Affairs Office (WoWCA), and community-based child protection volunteers to implement child protection interventions as part of the broader humanitarian response plan.
\nEnsure the application of the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action and the Inter-Agency Guidelines for Gender-Based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Settings at the Kebele\/IDP site level.
\nSupport the implementation and regular follow-up of action plans developed by community-based child protection mechanisms.
\nProvide ongoing technical support and mentoring to community-based child protection structures such as Child Rights Committees (CRCs), Community Care Coalitions (CCCs), community volunteers, caregivers, Child-Friendly Space (CFS) facilitators, Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS) facilitators, and parents.
\nMonitor and regularly report on the evolving child protection situation and available services at the site, ensuring timely communication with the CPiE Program Officer for escalations and coordination at the woreda level.
\nMaintain accurate and confidential records of cases, activities, and services provided using standardized tools and checklists, while ensuring compliance with data protection protocols.
\nPromote meaningful participation of children in child protection services and decision-making processes at the community level.
\nSubmit weekly, biweekly, and monthly progress updates, including situation reports, 5Ws (Who, What, Where, When, and for Whom), and 4Ws reports to the CPiE Program Officer.
\nPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor in support of the Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) program.<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n
Education: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Protection, or a related field.
\nExperience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in child protection, social work, or humanitarian programming, preferably with an NGO.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills:<\/p>\n
Knowledge of child protection and GBV standards and guidelines in humanitarian contexts.
\nExperience working with community structures and vulnerable populations.
\nStrong documentation and reporting skills.<\/p>\n
Other Skills:<\/p>\n
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
\nCommitment to child protection principles, including confidentiality and do-no-harm.
\nFluency in written and spoken English and local language
\nExcellent written and oral communication.
