\nKurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.
\nTHE ROLE
\nKGM is searching for Contracts & Projects Supervisor with a minimum of 5 \u2013 10 years of experience, reporting to the Superintendent Sourcing & Clearing, to oversee the procurement process of contracts for Operations and projects by managing external vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance, and monitoring the delivery of goods and services to meet project objectives.
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
\n1. Contract Management
\n\u2022 Draft, review, and manage contracts for mining, engineering, and service providers.
\n\u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and legal requirements.
\n\u2022 Monitor contractor performance and adherence to scope, schedule, and safety standards.
\n\u2022 Manage contract variations, extensions, and claims.
\n\u2022 Maintain proper documentation and reporting on all contractual matters.
\n2. Project Supervision
\n\u2022 Track progress, costs, and resource allocation against approved project plans.
\n\u2022 Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
\n\u2022 Identify risks and implement corrective or preventive measures.
\n\u2022 Liaise with internal departments (Commercial, Operations) for smooth delivery and project execution.
\n3. Cost Control and Reporting
\n\u2022 Monitor budgets and expenditures for contracts and projects.
\n\u2022 Support preparation of CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
\n\u2022 Approve contractor invoices after verifying completed work.
\n\u2022 Provide accurate progress and financial reports to management.
\n4. Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination
\n\u2022 Act as the primary point of contact for contractors and vendors.
\n\u2022 Facilitate communication between contractors and operational teams.
\n\u2022 Participate in tender evaluation and contractor selection processes.
\n\u2022 Build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure cooperation and efficiency.
\n5. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance
\n\u2022 Ensure compliance with mine safety and environmental standards where required.
\n\u2022 Conduct or participate in safety meetings and risk assessments.
\n6. Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI): Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
\nEducation:<\/p>\n
National Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, or Contracts\/Commercial Law.
\nProject Management certification will be advantageous<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
5\u201310 years\u2019 experience in mining, construction, or industrial projects.
\nProven cost control record.
\nSupervisory or leadership experience in contract or project environments.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills:<\/p>\n
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
\nAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously
\nProficiency in MS Project, Excel, and ERP systems
\nStrong knowledge of contract law, project management, and procurement processes
\nGood understanding of mining operations, engineering, and construction principles
\nSolid understanding of international reporting codes and standards
\nAwareness of HS&E standards and regulatory requirements in the mining industry<\/p>\n
