FHI 360\u2019s Crisis Response team has been responding to the humanitarian emergency in Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Somali Regions through an integrated Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection project to meet the critical needs of the conflict-affected population. FHI 360 aims to expand its reach to the Oromia Region in Negele East Borena, Ethiopia to provide humanitarian response to affected population and will be implementing the program with the Ethiopia-based national organization, Pastoralist Concern (PC).<br \/>\nPOSITION OVERVIEW<br \/>\nUnder the supervision of the Protection Coordinator, will take lead on day-to-day activities; work across various departments, collaborate with the other Sector Specialists to oversee GBV activities under the ISH-E III project in Somali (Liben and Afder) and Oromia region, Negele Borena. The position will also work in close collaboration with other team leaders within the sector and within the organization. The position reports to the Protection Coordinator.<br \/>\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES<br \/>\nThe primary functions of the Protection Team Leader are to oversee the implementation of quality GBV prevention and response activities, building capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Work closely with the protection Coordinator to understand program goals and to meet expectations.<br \/>\nContribute to ongoing assessments and analyses to better understand protection risks, to map points of service for survivors of GBV and vulnerable individuals, and to identify support structures.<br \/>\nAnalyze trends of GBV and suggest ways to develop\/adjust program strategies to meet needs.<br \/>\nContribute to program design and the preparation of concept notes and proposals, providing necessary field information\/ data.<\/p>\n<p>Program Implementation and Capacity Development<\/p>\n<p>Strengthen case management and referral systems.<br \/>\nWork with teams and communities to develop appropriate prevention and awareness raising\/behavior change strategies.<br \/>\nSupport Protection staff to become leaders of GBV prevention and response. Depending on skill sets and required roles, trainings may include gender, guiding principles of addressing GBV, GBV case management, referral pathway development, compassionate care, facilitation skills, mobilization, project cycle management, etc.<br \/>\nOrganize and support trainings for healthcare providers, as needed and appropriate.<br \/>\nCompile monthly and quarterly reports, on time and with accurate data.<\/p>\n<p>Coordination<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate with local and international NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support for survivors, including participation in strengthening GBV SOPs and referral pathways.<br \/>\nActively participate in protection\/GBV working groups and contribute to inter-agency initiatives, also promoting FHI360 as a leader agency in Protection.<br \/>\nContribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization\u2019s Code of Conduct<\/p>\n<p>Human Resources Management<\/p>\n<p>Assist in the selection, training, and support of qualified program staff.<br \/>\nCoordinates own workflow and sets individual priorities.<br \/>\nWorks under general guidelines for completion and accuracy as determined by the supervisor.<br \/>\nAccomplishes results through lower-level staff managers or through experienced staff who exercise independence in their assignments.<br \/>\nMay manage a centralized functional area of activity.<br \/>\nServe as mentor to more inexperienced technical staff.<br \/>\nDevelop support strategies for staff and introduce principles of self-care.<\/p>\n<p>Financial Management<\/p>\n<p>Develop work, spending and procurement plans in line with FHI 360 financial pipelines.<br \/>\nWork with Finance and Logistics to procure supplies within program budgets<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with donor financial regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Applied Knowledge and skills<\/p>\n<p>Ensures appropriate and timely technical support for field projects.<br \/>\nEnsures the quality of implemented technical activities and systems at all levels.<br \/>\nConducts routine coordination with employees and consultants, on-site and in the field.<br \/>\nStrong knowledge and skills in a specific technical area\/function and general understanding of concepts and principles of related technical areas\/functions.<br \/>\nSolid knowledge of standards for the technical area\/field, operational processes and procedures, work, and task flow.<br \/>\nHas the ability to manage projects, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of activities.<br \/>\nProficient writing and verbal communication skills.<br \/>\nRelevant computer software skills (including, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office).<br \/>\nAbility to manage their own work to job and performance standards.<br \/>\nMust be able to read, write and speak fluent English and fluent in Local language.<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with security protocols and policies.<br \/>\nConsider security implications of all program activities, reviewing all new initiatives with national\/ field staff and community leaders and incentive workers or volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Travel<\/p>\n<p>50% of travel to the field intervention areas in Somali and Oromia regions<\/p>\n<p>This job posting summarizes the main duties of the job.
