Position Overview\/Scope of role:
\nThe accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. The accountant will collaborate closely with the General Accounts Manager to support month-end closing processes, assist with audits, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
\nTop Roles and Responsibilities:
\nFinancial Transactions Management:<\/p>\n
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
\nPrepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation for all transactions.
\nAssist in the management of cash flow by monitoring bank transactions and reconciling bank statements.<\/p>\n
Financial Reporting:<\/p>\n
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
\nAssist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing relevant financial data and insights.
\nEnsure that all financial reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable accounting standards.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Record Keeping:<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
\nEnsure compliance with local tax laws and regulations by preparing necessary tax filings and documentation.
\nSupport the General Accounts Manager in ensuring that all accounting practices align with regulatory standards.<\/p>\n
Audit Support:<\/p>\n
Assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary information is readily available.
\nRespond to auditor inquiries and assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues identified during the audit process.<\/p>\n
Payroll Processing:<\/p>\n
Assist with payroll processing by verifying employee hours, calculating overtime, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
\nPrepare payroll-related reports and ensure timely distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
\nFinancial Analysis:
\nConduct basic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
\nMonitor expenses and provide recommendations for cost control measures to management.<\/p>\n
Team Collaboration:<\/p>\n
Work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
\nProvide support and training to junior accounting staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n
BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
