\nPosition Summary
\nThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of ChipChip\u2019s executive leadership team and is responsible for driving the company\u2019s financial strategy and ensuring long-term fiscal health. The CFO oversees all aspects of financial management, including strategic planning, budgeting, risk management, and investor relations. This role requires a visionary and results-driven leader who can provide data-backed financial insights that guide business strategy, foster sustainable growth, and support ChipChip\u2019s mission of becoming a leading e-commerce platform in Africa.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
\nDevelop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company\u2019s growth objectives and long-term business plan.
\nLead investor relations and fundraising activities to support business expansion and new initiatives.
\nConduct financial analysis to assess performance, optimize resource allocation, and support executive decision-making.
\nEnsure compliance with Ethiopian financial regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS or US GAAP).
\nEstablish and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks.
\nCollaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to develop sustainable business models and ensure profitability.
\nManage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and other key financial stakeholders.
\nOversee capital structure, investment decisions, and cost optimization strategies.
\nDesign and execute the company\u2019s tax strategy, ensuring compliance while optimizing efficiency.
\nLead, mentor, and develop the finance team to enhance organizational capacity and performance.
\nEnsure long-term alignment with the company\u2019s vision, fostering stability and continuity in the finance function.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master\u2019s degree or MBA preferred.
\nMinimum of 8 years of progressive experience in senior financial management roles (CFO, Finance Director, or Head of Finance).
\nProven experience in fast-growing or startup environments is highly desirable.
\nStrong understanding of corporate finance, financial modeling, and investment analysis.
\nIn-depth knowledge of international financial standards (IFRS or US GAAP); US accounting knowledge is a plus.
\nDemonstrated success in fundraising, investor relations, and executing financial strategies.
\nStrong background in tax planning, optimization, and compliance with tax authorities.
\nExcellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with high proficiency in English.
\nStrategic thinker with integrity, resilience, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
