Good Neighbors Ethiopia (GNE) is a humanitarian, non-governmental organization that has been implementing child sponsorship and community development programs in Ethiopia for the past 27 years, since 1997. GNE is a Korea-based organization re-registered in Ethiopia as a charity organization with Certificate No. 1135 and operates in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Agency for Civil Society Organizations.
\nGNE is committed to improving the lives of marginalized communities through initiatives in child protection, education, basic health services, income-generating activities (IGAs), humanitarian and emergency response, livelihood support for refugees and host communities, as well as climate and environmental programs.
\nCurrently, GNE operates in eight regions and one city administration, including Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, Benishangul-Gumuz, Somali, Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia regions, as well as the Addis Ababa City Administration.

\nReports to: General Manager
\nTerm of Employment: one (1) year with possibilities of extension subject to performance result of the candidate.
\nDuty Station(s): Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the field.

Overview of the position
\nAs a member of the Administration team, PR Officer shall provide technical support to the program operational projects of GNE in the areas of beneficiary\u2019s interview for Case story development plan and develop Public Relation and communication strategies for branding and networking with individuals and organizations.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Develop Organization\u2019s Public Relation and communication strategies.
\nCase story Interview & Reporting
\nField visit to project site and conduct GNE beneficiaries\u2019 interview and prepare a report on monthly basis.
\nManage GNE annual report publication using Microsoft publisher, Canvas and others.
\nContribute on GNE annual report compiling and manage publication
\nFacebook and other SNS Management (Article drafting)
\nFollow up organization\u2019s face book page and submit report to immediate supervisor.
\nGlobal Youth Network (GYN) management
\nHandle the global youth network workshop with scheduled time frame.
\nGuest \/ Visitor Protocol (inc. Visa issue)
\nFacilitate special guest or visitors by making them to sign safeguarding pledge if they have plan to go project field office.
\nGNE Brand guideline Management (Review of Publication Contents)
\nRepresentation of the organization when assigned for media companies or any communication issues.
\nPublish quarterly report of the organization.
\nDevelop Public relation data protection policy.
\nKeep confidential PR related documents of the organization in the soft copy.
\nPerform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Develop and implement public relations strategies to enhance the organization\u2019s visibility and reputation.
\nManage media relations by building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets.
\nCreate compelling content for press releases, articles, and social media platforms that align with the organization\u2019s goals.
\nMonitor media coverage and prepare reports on media activities and public perception.
\nCoordinate and promote events, press conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
\nManage the organization\u2019s social media presence, ensuring timely and relevant content.
\nAssist in crisis communication planning and response to protect the organization\u2019s image.
\nConduct research to identify emerging trends and issues relevant to the organization\u2019s stakeholders.
\nCollaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
\nEvaluate the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and adjust strategies based on feedback and outcomes.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Required Skills:<\/p>\n
Bachelor of Art (BA) or Masters in Journalism and communication, Media studies,
\nMinimum of 3 years relevant experience on the same position.
\nThe position demand high computer or IT skill; thus, the applicant must have a well relationship with computer knowledge and applications.
\nExperiences in an NGO setting as Public Relation officer, Communication & Networking officer are an asset.
\nHave rich experience in development of Standard communication or PR items used for the advocacy of organization\u2019s project activities on timely manner.
\nDemonstrate strong media relations capabilities to effectively engage with journalists and influencers.
\nExhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey messages clearly.
\nUtilize social media and digital communication tools to enhance outreach and engagement.
\nCreate high-quality content that resonates with target audiences and promotes organizational objectives.
\nAnalyze media trends and public sentiment to inform strategic communication decisions.
\nOrganize and manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
\nAdapt communication styles to suit diverse audiences and platforms.
\nDevelop persuasive messaging that aligns with the organization\u2019s mission and values.
\nImplement innovative digital strategies to increase audience engagement.
