CHADET-ETHIOPIA is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for the protection and welfare of children found under difficult circumstances. CHADET would like to hire competent staffs for coordinating and executing a project that is designed to assist ILO in the design and delivery of inclusive, quality apprenticeship programs for refugees, women, and vulnerable members of host communities in Addis Ababa.
\nThe project intends to undertake the following key activities:<\/p>\n
Facilitate the provision of a three-month apprenticeship training for 200 beneficiaries from refugee and host communities in hotel\/tourism and construction industries in Addis Ababa.
\nCoordinate the provision of a one-month industrial attachments for 50 TVET trainers from Addis Ababa, Somali, and Amhara regions in relevant companies.
\nFacilitate training of TVETs and in-company trainers on apprenticeship supervision, gender-sensitive training, and use of logbooks.
\nEstablish strong monitoring and evaluation systems to track apprentice progress, document success stories, and inform future scaling.<\/p>\n
The Gender and Protection Officer will ensure that the apprenticeship program is inclusive, safe, gender-responsive, and protective of refugees, women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups throughout the project lifecycle.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Integrate gender equality, disability inclusion, and safeguarding principles across all project activities.
\nSupport gender and protection-sensitive beneficiary selection and placements for apprenticeship.
\nTrain TVET instructors and in-company supervisors on gender-sensitive supervision, inclusion, and PSEA.
\nMonitor apprenticeship sites for compliance with protection and non-discrimination standards.
\nEstablish referral and feedback mechanisms for apprentices facing protection concerns.
\nContribute to reporting and documentation of gender and protection outcomes.
\nEnsure the participation of women, refugees, and persons with disabilities.
\nOversee the observance of ILO and CHADET\u2019s Protection policy, \u2018Do No Harm\u2019 principles in the implementation of the project.
\nCoordinate action on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and the implementation of referral pathways.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualification and Skills<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or related fields.
\nMinimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in gender equality, protection, safeguarding, or social inclusion programming, preferably within TVET, livelihoods, refugee, or labor-market interventions.
