We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the company\u2019s growth in a dynamic market.
\nThe Role
\nAs a Senior Accountant, you will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. You will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, tax management, and internal audits, ensuring that all financial activities align with both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Ethiopian tax laws.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
\nGeneral Ledger Management: Reconcile accounts payable and receivable; ensure all ledger entries are accurate and substantiated.
\nTax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and timely filing of monthly tax returns (VAT, TOT, Withholding Tax, and Pension) and ensure full compliance with ERCA regulations.
\nBudgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly cash flow forecasts.
\nAudit Coordination: Facilitate internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
\nInventory Oversight: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate valuation and reconciliation of pharmaceutical stock.
\nFixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation calculations.<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Education: MBA or BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (ACCA or CPA) are highly advantageous.
\nExperience: A minimum of 5\u20137 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior-level position.
\nIndustry Knowledge: Previous experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or import\/wholesale sector in Ethiopia is preferred.
\nSoftware: Proficiency in advanced Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Peachtree\/Sage, ERP systems).<\/p>\n
