The descriptions of the post cannot be exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake additional duties that align with the key responsibilities described herein. The roles and responsibilities are also subject to change.<br \/>\nOverall Responsibilities:<br \/>\nWorking with and reporting to the Finance and Administration Officer, the Project Cashier-Accountant will be responsible for all financial activities, including preparing payments, following up on collections, ensuring that all collections are deposited to the organization\u2019s bank accounts, preparing payment vouchers; assures that all source documents are coded &amp; stamped \u2018PAID\u2019.<br \/>\nDuties and responsibilities<br \/>\nFinancial Management:<\/p>\n<p>Prepare training\/workshop payment as per the attendance before the end of the session.<br \/>\nSequentially arranges, files, and labels financial records in a professional and easily retrievable manner<br \/>\nEnsure that financial documents in safe custody.<br \/>\nEffectively pay cheques against receipts\/invoices and the proper signature of the recipient<br \/>\nEnsure proper implementation and compliance of organizational policies and procedures in place<br \/>\nChecks all incoming receipts, invoices, and petty cash payment documents.<br \/>\nEnsures that pertinent financial documents are at all times up-to-date, orderly, well-kept, and readily available for reference and audit when required<br \/>\nHandles petty cash fund, the amount of which shall be stipulated by the organization\u2019s financial policy for payment of small expenses, and maintains appropriate and adequate records of transactions effected.<br \/>\nAssists the Finance Officer in the implementation of the internal control system and financial policy of the organization, as well as in the identification, review, and development of new procedures and systems.<\/p>\n<p>Tax and Bill Payments<\/p>\n<p>Ensure that government taxes such as income tax, pension &amp; WHT are timely paid before the deadline<br \/>\nHandles monthly offices rental payment<br \/>\nEnsure monthly water, electricity and telecommunication bills are paid before the deadline<\/p>\n<p> Human Resource<\/p>\n<p>Prepare and document monthly staff timesheet within three days after end of month<br \/>\nfile and maintain personnel documents in each personnel file<br \/>\nHandle flight booking for senior staffs and other related assignments as required<\/p>\n<p>Procurement and Property Administration<\/p>\n<p>perform the timely fuelling of vehicles<br \/>\nEnsure properly keeps financial documents in safe custody.<br \/>\nPurchase supplies as per the approved purchase request<br \/>\nDeliver materials purchased to store keeper &amp; receive good receiving note<br \/>\nPerform other related duties as requested by his\/her immediate supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>About You<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n<p>Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Logistics or other related fields.<\/p>\n<p>Work Experience<\/p>\n<p>At least two years of work experience in the Accounting and Finance sector in local or international NGOs.<br \/>\nKnowledge of stock-taking procedures to ensure the physical count of goods matches records.<br \/>\nProficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Peachtree or other ERP systems is Advantages.<br \/>\nProcessing payments, including petty cash, staff advances, and supplier payments, ensuring that transactions are backed by proper documentation.<br \/>\nUnderstanding of financial regulations related to cash handling, including local tax laws and organizational financial policies.<br \/>\nExperience in maintaining financial records, including preparing cash ledgers, reconciling cash accounts, and ensuring proper documentation of transactions.<br \/>\nStrong communication skills to coordinate with finance teams and management<br \/>\nMotivated self-starters, able to carry out work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team<\/p>\n<p>Skills Required, Attitudes, and Attributes<\/p>\n<p>Fluency in English, both written and verbal.<br \/>\nFluency in the local language, both written and verbal.<br \/>\nPrevious experience working in complex and volatile contexts.<br \/>\nGood communication and interpersonal skills<br \/>\nStrong organizational and multi-tasking skills.<br \/>\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.<br \/>\nTeam-management and leadership skills.<br \/>\nHandling insecure environments.<br \/>\nManaging resources to optimize results.<br \/>\nInnovation, flexibility, and a solution-oriented approach<\/p>\n<p>Number required: 1 (One)<br \/>\nDuty Station: Amhara region, Debre Birhan<br \/>\nFemale applicants are highly encouraged to apply<br \/>\nEqual Employment Opportunity<\/p>\n<p>Positive Action for Development (PAD) promotes fairness, equity, and diversity in the workplace.
