\n2. Job Summary
\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Junior Export Coffee Laboratory Technician to support our quality control and export certification processes. The successful candidate will be required to conduct essential physical, sensory, and analytical tests on green and roasted coffee samples to ensure they meet stringent international export standards and client specifications.
\n3. Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Prepare green and roasted coffee samples for analysis.
\nPerform standard laboratory tests including but not limited to: moisture content analysis, bean density, screen sizing, and defect classification.
\nAssist in sensory evaluation (cupping) sessions by preparing samples, recording scores, and maintaining the cupping area.
\nAccurately record, compile, and input test data into laboratory information systems.
\nMaintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as per schedule.
\nEnsure strict adherence to laboratory safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
\nSupport in the preparation of documentation and certificates of analysis for export shipments.
\nAssist in general laboratory upkeep and inventory management of chemicals and supplies.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Requirements<\/p>\n
BSc\/Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture (with a focus on coffee\/horticulture) or a related field.
\nCertified in the field from nationally accredited institutions and A minimum of 1 year of practical work experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the coffee, food processing, or beverage industry.
\nBasic understanding of green coffee quality parameters and defects is a strong advantage.
\nAbility to perform precise, repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
\nGood numerical and record-keeping skills.
\nProficient in basic computer applications (MS Office).
\nStrong communication skills in Amharic; working knowledge of English is required.
