About Office of the Chief Commissioner
\nPurpose of the Job
\nTo support the office of the chief commissioner on transitional justice (TJ), particularly in capacity building activities, monitoring work, support to victims, research, and advocacy and sensitization to ensure that the TJ process is human rights compliant, inclusive, participatory, and victim-centered.
\nMain Duties and Responsibilities Include:<\/p>\n
Support EHRC in the execution of its work and mandate on TJ;
\nAssist in monitoring implementation of the TJ process and in documentation and reporting;
\nSupport EHRC\u2019s work to ensure a victim-centered TJ process including documenting victims\u2019 needs, concerns, and priorities to ensure it is reflected in the TJ process;
\nConduct research and draft reports on various areas as required;
\nProvide program and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the department;
\nDraft concept notes and agendas for meetings, prepare briefing material and presentations as needed to support the Director and the team;
\nAssist EHRC in preparing communication and information materials such as tools, explainers, videos, and translated material to facilitate advocacy and sensitization work on transitional justice targeting different stakeholders;
\nProvide comprehensive operational support, including drafting concept notes, preparing agendas and presentations, preparing briefing materials, taking minutes, translating documents as required;
\nMonitor and report on the progress, challenges, and successes in ensuring that the TJ process is human rights compliant; and
\nSupport OCC in its other functions and Perform other duties as required and assigned by the Chief Commissioner or the Director of OCC<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Education <\/p>\n
LLM\/LLB degree in law, Human Rights Law, International Law, transitional justice, conflict studies, peace and security, humanitarian law, or other related fields.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
4 years of relevant experience for LLB and 2 years of relevant experience for LLM.<\/p>\n
Other Requirements
\nComputer literate.
\nKnowledge of Amharic and English is required.
