Purpose of the Job:
\nAs a Network and Cloud Security Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network and cloud infrastructures to protect an organization\u2019s data and systems from threats. This role involves conducting security assessments, managing firewalls and intrusion detection systems, configuring secure cloud environments, and ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations. Additionally, you will also monitor network traffic for suspicious activity, respond to security incidents, and collaborate with other IT teams to develop and enforce security policies. Furthermore, you are expected to stay updated on emerging threats and technologies to continuously enhance security measures. Besides this, you will provide technical assistance and answer questions or resolve software and hardware problems for staff in person, via telephone, electronically, or via remote assistance on all IT related issues.
\nMain Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Answer user inquiries about software and hardware operations.
\nResolve user issues related to software, hardware, and network connectivity.
\nProvide general IT support and online session support.
\nAssist departments with online session setups and provide technical support.
\nProvide on-call support after hours on a rotational basis.
\nCreate user-friendly manuals with pictures for simple configurations.
\nAssist in creating and maintaining simple user processes as directed.
\nSet up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and software.
\nPerform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripherals following design specifications.
\nInspect equipment and prepare for delivery to users.
\nInstall and configure desktop and laptop computers for office use.
\nMonitor IT infrastructure services (CMS, HRIS, AD, DC, VoIP) daily.
\nManage core network services.
\nManage configurations of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows, email, SMTP Server, and internet protocols.
\nManage user roles and create users with appropriate rights.
\nManage SharePoint sites, content, and user access.
\nMonitor and address security breaches.
\nOversee hardware and software in the cloud.
\nEnsure robust infrastructure and secure connectivity.
\nDesign and implement secure network architectures, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
\nEvaluate and select appropriate hardware and software for network solutions.
\nConfigure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, IDS\/IPS, and other network devices.
\nSet up and maintain network protocols (e.g., TCP\/IP, BGP, OSPF).
\nMonitor network performance and traffic using various tools.
\nIdentify and resolve network issues to optimize performance and reliability.
\nImplement and manage network security measures to protect data and resources.
\nConduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
\nDevelop and execute incident response plans for security incidents.
\nInvestigate and analyze security breaches and recommend corrective actions.
\nDesign and implement secure cloud architectures that meet organizational security requirements.
\nEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
\nMaintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security policies, and incident reports.
\nProvide training and awareness programs for staff regarding security best practices.
\nStay updated on the latest networking and cloud security technologies and trends.
\nRecommend and implement improvements based on evolving security landscapes.
\nWork with IT teams to ensure network integration with other systems and services.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualification and Experience
\nEducation <\/p>\n
BSC Degree in Information Technology, or related field of study<\/p>\n
Experience <\/p>\n
4 years of experience in network security, cloud security, or cybersecurity engineering.
\nProven track record of securing hybrid environments (on-premises + cloud).
\nExperience working in enterprise IT environments with complex infrastructures.<\/p>\n
Other Requirements <\/p>\n
Computer literate.
\nKnowledge of Amharic is required.
